Alice couldn't quite remember when they had agreed to this. They often visited each other, and when they had decided upon eventually revealing themselves to their nation counterparts, sometime in that big long debate involving all of them, they had agreed to have a regular meeting, down in the basement when the nations themselves had their meetings. Of course, seeing as they were not the nations, their meeting would go a lot smoother, as, for some reason, they could all get along so much better. Hmph. And that was why they were helping their Alters get their act back together. Honestly...
Slipping downstairs, Alice patted down her blue dress, fixing her hair by touch alone as she made her way down to her meeting point. She wasn't as conceited as the frog, of course, but a lady always had to look presentable. Flipping on the light switch, vaguely annoyed by the fact that there were no windows (of course there weren't, she knew that, but it still irritated her), the counterpart surveyed the room, making sure it was fine. It was very clean, of course, as she had come in yesterday to vacuum, dust, sweep, and everything (and bloody hell, it had been a hassle to get the first down the steps), so it was spic and span.
While here, Alice had took a quick peek at the Nations' Conference Room, not that she didn't know what it looked like, but to reaffirm it in her mind, as she had set up the room to look like it, only with a much smaller table and far less chairs. After all, she was one of the first to come clean, and she had only done so recently, and some of the counterparts hadn't particularly liked coming clean to the actual nations, as they didn't like the people that represented their country. Not that she blamed them in some cases, really...
Glancing down and double checking to make sure that no one had messed up anything since yesterday, Alice, who was early and knew it, left the light on, sitting down in a chair at the round table, vaguely reminiscing back to the times when there were knights sitting around a table such as this, rather that counterparts of nations, hiding away from those who didn't know them. Ah, those were the good days, when she had her hair chopped off and dressed up like a boy, off to do battle with some ruffian or other. Good days, good days...
Chin placed into the palm of her hand, the counterpart completely zoned off, mind back into the medieval ages, back when nothing was clean (how horrible!) but everything was far, far more enjoyable...

The fact that there was a meeting scheduled and approved that perhaps they were accepted, right? Jun hoped so as he wasn't really that prepared for something quite was going to happen today. To figure out that there were others like him and it was their job to assist their respective other selves at...whatever they needed help with, Jun didn't feel that he was up to the task. Nonetheless, he agreed to "reveal" himself to his other, though he truly didn't expect it to be a girl, and attend this small meeting.
Jun slowly descended down the stairs, unconsciously wrapping himself tighter in this thin, white jacket while taking off his headphones and hanging them around his neck. He had imagined that it would be dark when he arrived, having gotten to meeting designation much sooner than what he was "supposed" to arrive. Surprisingly, it was bright, so Jun assumed that someone must have already arrived, just as he walked into the room.
Though it was much smaller than what Jun imagined it would be, it was very much cleaner than what he guessed, considering that someone must have gone through a lot to change the dusty place for people to gather and meet. He knew that the room's main light source would have to come from the suspended light bulbs from overhead, since they were underground to begin with.
Jun noticed that someone was already seated at the round table that it was Alice, having met her once or twice before. She was "technically" the UK's other self, or counterpart, as they were called. Or, was it correct to call themselves part-Nations...Jun sighed rather loudly as the whole situation confused him greatly and resolved to call the other by her name.
"Yo, Alice!" The counterpart stood across from the other from the opposite side of the table and gave a small wave. He wasn't sure if she had saw him, as she looked like she was enjoying her daydream. Jun settled himself into a seat, cross-legged and place his headphones back around his head.

Alice was lost in her remembrance of the one time that she had speared the frog clean through, which had been rather enjoyable, but at the same time cause her gender to be revealed, so she had been forced to find another place and disguise herself there. Ah, those days when she didn't have to be ladylike, good times... Suddenly jolted from her memories by a voice calling her name, the counterpart blinked, coming back to herself as she turned to see who was there.
Oh, that was Jun Huang, wasn't it? The counterpart of Taiwan? Alice prided herself on being able to remember the names of all the counterparts, though occasionally she forgot which country they belonged to, such as the South American ones that had once been under her dear Spanish friend but she always remembered their names, as that was probably the most important part of their identity. They couldn't quite be identified as nations, seeing as they were not the nations, merely their counterparts, so she had to remember their names. After all, addressing him as Taiwan wouldn't do.
Nodding at him, Alice replied. "Hello, Jun," she told him, unsure if he could hear her through his headphones, but forging onward anyway. "It's a pleasure to see you." She called all of the counterparts by their first names, insults in some cases, as titles were only for those she didn't know well and were older than her, at least to their knowledge, and there weren't any of those, unless she ended up speaking to one of their counterparts. Hopefully, that wouldn't happen, but she couldn't put it past Arthur to end up introducing her to Francis or Alfred, just to see her reaction. Honestly, she knew their counterparts, didn't she?
Glancing at the entryway which Jun had just come through, the woman wondered whether anyone else was coming, and vaguely hoped so, before reminding herself that she had been early, as she had wanted to make sure that everything was still in place. Wait, that meant Jun was early as well, correct? Focusing her eyes on him, she gave him a slight smile, not finding anything to be irritated about at the moment. He was early, wasn't he? That definitely put the male counterpart up higher in her books.

Jun shifted his headphones again, as he really wasn't really listening to anything and it was a force of habit to have them up, when he heard Alive call the male counterpart by his first name. That also reassured Jun that he hadn't messed up yet, though it still had him wondering about what was the right thing to do.
"Likewise," Jun smiled gently and dipped his head slightly in respect, "Though I never thought there would be someone here this early for something like this," He made a rather sheepish laugh as he, almost involuntarily, brought his hand up to scratch the back of his head. "Hopefully the others are going to show up soon,"
The male counterpart had noticed that the other had given him a small smile of her own; this had reassured Jun that perhaps being there was the right thing to do. However, the dark churning waters of uneasiness slowly crept back into Jun's mind went back to the situation about whether or not it was alright to come here.
It was all of a sudden that Jun decided to get up onto his feet and say something to get rid of the uncertainty that had been bothering him. "Thank you for calling me by my name!" Jun spoke in a exasperated tone, as if he had gone out to run a mile out and back. Quickly realizing what he just said, he tried to laugh off it and continued speaking, "It'll feel weird for me to be called by my birth country's name. And, I do like my name...Kinda..." Once again, Jun brought his hand back to his head, but this time decided to mess his his funky haircurl, twisting it around his finger. ooc;; Btw, Jun is actually a girl's name...X3;;

Ah, he was so polite. Rather refreshing, after too much time around Amelia and the frog. "I came in to clean up this place yesterday," Alice told the other counterpart, explaining why she had arrived early, though why he was excluding himself from that statement, she wasn't sure. "I wanted to make sure that no one had come in here and messed it all up, but thankfully, they didn't." Still with the small smile on her face, rather enjoying the simple conversation, Alice wondered briefly why she didn't get out more and try to socialize with the other counterparts. After all, many of them were far better company to be around than the ones she was usually with.
Her thoughts were interrupted as Jun suddenly stood up, thanking her abruptly, causing her to reel back slightly in surprise, blinking at him in shock. Thankfully, he went on to explain himself, causing Alice to both become very confused, and slightly concerned for the younger counterpart. Standing up as well, she stepped around the table, debating laying her hand on the other's shoulder but deciding against it.
"Of course I would call you Jun, that's your name, isn't it?" She told him, trying to figure out what exactly what was wrong. This wasn't a situation she felt she had been in since Amelia and the rest of her colonies hit their teenage years, and the woman felt slightly awkward, unsure of what to do. "You're not Taiwan, you're Taiwan's counterpart, which is far too lengthy to say." Folding her arms and glancing away, Alice huffed slightly. "And I do hope you like your name, as you're stuck with it for the rest of your life." Children. Bah. She'd never understand them.

"H-Hǎo!" Though Jun was quick to reply, being the rather soft person he was, was actually on the brink of getting a bit teary eyed, though he quickly brushed that away and sat back down into his seat. He liked Alice; though she was a bit...strange in some of her ways, she was overall a nice person. Or, this could just be a facade that she had put on...Nonetheless, Jun felt himself a bit insured about this, until...
"I totally just made a fool of myself," The counterpart slowly collapsed the top part of his body onto the table before him, mumbling incoherently about something about or other, while sliding on his headphones and also placed the hood of his jacket onto his head, covering the top half of his face. His laid face-down on the table and wrapped his hands around his head to conceal the rest of his face.
Jun mentally rammed his head against the table, trying to think up of something that would change the mood in the room. After all, he had blurted something out which was very much random and, from what the counterpart could tell, that he had disturbed Alice with his surprise. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to be here...Argh! to the internal conflicts, that created a tornado of feelings inside, as Jun was now even more uncertain to do now.
Very much determined to get his day back onto the right track, Jun brought his face back up, his chin still touching the table, and brought his hands down, making have a slouch in this chair. "So...You know what time everyone else it gonna be here?" The counterpart inquired as he was very familiar with many of the others, or he did but couldn't remember them at that moment.

As the other counterpart responded and sat back down, Alice decided to sit in the chair next to him, slightly worried for the younger one. At least this way, though, she'd only be bugged by either the frog or Amelia on one side of her, though she definitely knew which one she would rather have. For all that the much younger nation, her former younger sister, was rather annoying, she was better than the perverted French woman, for sure. And now Jun could shield her from it.
Snorting at the Asian nation's words, she leaned back slightly in her chair, tilting it. "Lad, I have raised about half the counterparts in the world at some point or another. I have seen far more than I wanted to, and known too much, as well," Alice told him, crossing her legs. "Believe me, this isn't that bad." Blurting out something like that, when only she was here? Bah, that was nothing. She had seen and done far more embarrassing things in her lifetime, usually involving another nation. Sometimes, she wondered if she had ever been so young to assume something this trivial was that embarrassing. Nope, she hadn't. Definitely not.
Glancing at the wall clock, and returning her chair to its proper position, with all four legs on the floor (why had she tilted it? That hadn't been lady-like at all!), Alice thought about the question, considering. "Well, the meeting isn't about to start for at least another ten minutes, so I'm not quite sure. Amelia will probably be late, of course," she told him, the last sentence filled with fond exasperation. Always, always late. "Honestly, I'm not quite sure who's coming. Not everyone wanted to reveal themselves, at least this soon. Anya might be coming, Lovina, and possibly Viktoria, but that's all I know of."
The counterpart shrugged lightly, not particularly caring, as long as they all showed up on time, and she had enough chairs. "There might be others, I'm not sure..." Hm, who would be coming? Maybe she would be lucky, and the frog would be a no show! Sufficiently cheered by this information, Alice leaned back once more, careful not to tilt her chair. That was rather un-lady-like, after all.

Ugh. Why did she even agree to go this thing in the first place? It's not like she really cared about what was going on, or who would be there, or what the stupid meeting was about. For all Lovina knew, the room would probably be filled just with the people she hated, and she would be stuck there listening to God-knows what for God-knows how long. The counterpart sighed, scowling slightly as she hurried toward the room, tucking a stray piece of hair behind her ear. 'This better be damn worth it. I could be having a siesta right now or at home relaxing.'
To say she wasn't content was an understatement, but she was more annoyed more than anything. Fine, so she did care about this meeting, not liking the way THE nations were running things, but why did it have to be so far away and at this time? In a basement nevertheless.
Lovina glared at the room used by the nations before carefully continuing until the designated meeting area was found. Immediately, second thoughts formed. She sighed a little and rolled her eyes at no one in particular. 'I don't even know who's here, and I don't even like most of these bastards,' she reasoned with herself, 'I should just go home and have my sorella tell me what happened.' As much as she was considering not entering the room, she did anyway.
".. Is this it?" The Italian quickly raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms, looking around the room at the mostly-empty chairs; at least there wasn't anyone scary or crazy tall there, but.. Had she come too early, or too late? Or were the others just not coming. She recognized one of them right off the bat, Alice, but for the other, the face was familiar, not the name. Lovina didn't try to hide her irritation as she walked in and sat in one of the chairs by the round table, straightening out her khaki skirt as she looked back and forth between the two.. Awkward? Slightly. She wasn't close with either of them. After a moment of debate, she sighed for the umpteenth time, settling her gaze on Alice because she was likely the one in charge between the two. "Am I late or is this meeting just a bust?"

Sniffling slightly and attempting to make himself a bit more presentable, Jun sat up straight in his seat as he removed his hood from his head. He kept his headphones on as he could still listen to things around him while they were one, just one just sounds nasally when one does speak. "Hopefully someone does come..." The young counterpart looked at the doorway for a few seconds, as if by looking someone was going to arrive, before looking back at the blank table.
As if on cue, as soon as Jun looked away from the entrance way, someone had entered the meeting room. Jun didn't recognize her, but he was happy that someone had come to the meeting. Alice did say that some other people may be showing up; the names didn't really click in Jun's memory, but people were actually attending the meeting and it gave the worrisome counterpart some form of hope.
It was getting better until Jun heard what the newcomer had said, which had his jitters return once again to haunt him. "This meeting...Is going to be a failure?" Jun gulped as he attempted to swallow down his uncertainty. Maybe she was being sarcastic...Jun remembered slightly that there were two that were siblings or something, the younger-one that seemed slightly more like a coward than the older one...Maybe his is the older one?
"Well," Jun attempted to speak in a stronger voice, though it shook some as he continued, "I'm sure that other people are going to show up. There were a lot more people before,"

Nodding in agreement with Jun's words, Alice glanced at the doorway, surprised at the sound of footsteps. Oh, it was Lovina. Nodding in greeting to her, the counterpart was about to speak, when her unsaid words were interrupted by Lovina's, rude, as usual, question. Scowling at her, she snorted slightly as she heard Jun grow more and more worried next to her, speaking up. "Neither. You're early, and not that many people are coming to begin with," Alice told the other, attempting to keep her words civil. It sort of worked, though irritation did lace her tone.
Shrugging slightly, she interlaced her fingers, propping her elbows on the table and placing her chin just above her crossed fingers. "Besides, it's not as if everyone went and told their counterpart right after the last time we talked. Some don't want to, others are too scared, and some just don't give a damn," Alice explained, the curse word slipping through, unfortunately, before she leaned back in her chair once more.
Nodding at Lovina, she continued. "Anya, Viktoria, Kura, and Amelia will show up, maybe a little late, but they'll be here." Making it a definitive this time, just to feel more certain, the counterpart shrugged. "There might be more, I'm not sure." Honestly, she was surprised that Lovina was here. While she had listed the counterpart as one to be possibly expected, she hadn't actually thought that the cowardly woman would work up the courage to confront her nation counterpart, even if he was equally as cowardly. Alice wasn't sure whether to feel pleased, or vaguely discomfited by this, and so felt both at the same time. After all, it was slightly strange, but these were different times, after all, considering they were revealing themselves after thousands of years, for some of them.

"Early? Great," she muttered. Being here early only meant she would end up staying longer than expected, which was usually the reason she often tried to be late to things like this. She noted the other counterpart's tone and blinked, hesitating on a snappy retort; she wasn't afraid of the woman (well maybe just a smidge), but she'd rather not have a confrontation on her hands, as it was too early for that. At the mention of telling the nations of their existence, the corner of Lovina's mouth twitched slightly. "Huh.. yeah.." Had she revealed anything? No, no of course not. While her male counterpart was supposedly the same as she was, it was frightening saying 'Hey. I exist.'.. After all, how would he react?
Truthfully, the brunette didn't even know if she was going to do such a thing. Sure, she came to the meeting, but it was mostly to see what the others were going to do about it- there was no guarantee.. It wasn't that she was secretly terrified of the task, no.. Well maybe it was, but coming to the meeting was one step toward the right direction, and it would make her look like less of a coward.
Hearing the male speak, Lovina quickly looked toward him, eyes narrowing; however, by the tone of his voice, he was swiftly disregarded at a threat. She scoffed slightly at his demeanor however, and was glad she wasn't the one looking on the side of cowardice for once; it might have made her more confident than she usually was, not appearing to be the weakest link. "They better show up. I didn't come all the way over here for an 'important meeting' to talk to just you two.. No offense," she quickly added with a glance at Alice, before looking back at the other counterpart. "But who the hell are you anyway?" It was irking that someone was sitting there, nameless, but that was probably Lovina's own fault, as she hardly cared about knowing the names of people who she didn't interact with often.

Failing at his attempts to look and sound a whole lot better than he was really feeling, Jun jumped at the question that was directed at him from the stern and annoyed sounding lady. "Jun's my name, ma'am," The counterpart automatically stood up give a small bow of respect, "Jun Huang. It's a pleasure to meet you," He remained bowing for a few short moments before settling himself back into his seat.
Jun still couldn't put his finger on it, whether or not his person is who he thought she was. Even so, he remained quiet about it and mentally noted how irritated the Italian, or so Jun assumed to be, counterpart seemed to be. Maybe she, underneath the facade and all, was feeling the same as Jun, or at least he prayed to himself that he wasn't the odd one of the bunch. Perhaps he could take some lessons or something like the sort from her, from one counterpart to another.
Taking a quick peek at the wall clock, Jun noticed that it was almost time for the others to be showing up. Maybe they were just going to magically appear right when the clock hits the time for everyone to arrive. Jun was very much certain that people were going to show up late after all, but the uncertainty was hard to contain. He shouldn't have arrived so early; otherwise, he wouldn't have these feelings of impatience and such while he was in his seat in that terribly empty meeting room.
"Alice, it's almost time. You sure that people are going to show up?" Jun inquired innocently, looking at the other counterpart with rather worried eyes from his seat. "There really is no point to have this meeting if it's only us..." He looked back onto the clock and started to stare at the minute hand; as if he thought that if he looked at it hard enough, people would start showing up.

Alice snorted lightly at Lovina's add on, speaking up. "Believe me, you aren't the most ideal conversationalist, either," She told the Italian, smirking slightly. Honestly, she was surprised that she hadn't gotten a large bout of curse words and insults thrown her way by the other, but, then again, she seemed slightly afraid. Good, she did not want to bother with the other. Currently, she was saving her irritation for those that warranted it, like the ever-late Amelia.
As Jun bowed to the other, the counterpart explained slightly. "Lovina, Jun is Taiwan's counterpart. Jun, Lovina is South Italy's," she told them both, not understanding how they couldn't even remember each other's names, apparently, but perhaps nobody wanted to, as she had. It just made so much more sense to try to keep them in mind, seeing as it was only about 200 names to remember. Not really that many, honestly, especially because, often times, some of the Third World counterparts were no-shows at the meetings. Really...
Resisting the urge to smack the other on the back of his head, and succeeding only through the fact that his eyes were innocent enough that she knew Jun wasn't purposefully irritating her, unlike Amelia would often do, Alice managed to spit out, irritated, her answer. "Of course they're coming!" she told him, turning in his direction with a slight scowl on her face. "I don't know where the bloody hell Anya is, but she's probably maiming someone, and got held up, or something moronic like that. Amelia will surprise me so very much if she actually gets here on time." Crossing her arms, she gave Jun the 'Look', which usually made Amelia begin to cry and start apologizing in her childhood. "You keep bloody making me repeat myself!" Geeze! Suddenly, she felt slightly bad for the panda-loving counterpart that had been forced to raise Jun. Was the female Taiwan like this, as well?

Anya was looking forward to this meeting, even if someone decided to get in a fight, she would just let them do it and enjoy watching them fight. She had a feeling nobody would try to pick a fight with her. But perhaps it was a little too early to speak? The Russian's mind was wrapped around the meeting already, not a single thought was worried about being late or the meeting going wrong, well not too much worry. She knew she wouldn't be the last person there.
The counterpart began to approach the room where the meeting would be held. She could faintly hear voices behind it, one that had an Italian accent, probably one of the Italy sisters. There was a second voice, an English accent with a harsh tone to the accent. It was no other than Alice. Anya decided not to wait to walk in, she slowly opened the door curious as to what the woman was saying.
Before she even closed the door Anya heard something a tad insulting. She tilted her head a little, perhaps she heard her wrong? "I'm not maiming anyone,"
she jumped in. "Perhaps I could be though~" She raised her eyebrows a little at her words. Did she hear that right? "Moronic? Perhaps Alice wants to re-word her sentence?" Anya was feeling rather giving today, so she wouldn't lock the door quite yet...She'd give Alice a chance. ((neehhh D: kinda short... It'll lengthen out, I promise.))[/blockquote]

"Alright alright! You don't have to be so damn formal," she said quickly at the bow. Was this just some weird thing with his culture, being polite for no reason? With Lovina, she was only ever polite if she was a) Intimidated (which couldn't count for politeness, really, just being so scared she didn't dare say a word) or, b) she was in an amazingly good mood and with someone she got along with; either way, it was rare, so she was a little taken aback. At Alice's introduction, she nodded. "Yeah, what she said." Taiwan? No wonder she hadn't recognized him, being one to stay mostly in her corner of the world and not venture all the way to the Asias. With a sigh, the Italian leaned back in her chair and glanced at the clock. "Whoever's coming is taking for-"
At the sound of the voice, the female's eyes widened and she immediately stopped talking, even forgetting to snap back at Alice for snapping for what she thought was no reason. That voice, she did recognize. Lovina tensed and slowly looked back at the door, already starting to shake. The counterpart of that insane country was there.. no, here. "A-ah.."
Irritated demeanor, gone. Lovnia sprang up from her seat, hiding behind the nearest person and pointing accusingly at the tall woman in the doorway. "W-what the hell is she doing here?! No one told me she would be here!" When the meeting was mentioned for counterparts, for some reason one of the last people she expected to show up was Anya. Didn't she have better things to do? Wouldn't she be busy out there maiming or doing whatever the British counterpart had said she was occupied with? Realizing her outbursts, the Italian counterpart shrank back more behind her human shield, which was difficult enough already since the only other two in the room were sitting.
