ALICE KIRKLAND
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Are you a Nation or a Counterpart?: Counterpart~
Your Name: Alice Kirkland
Your Nationality: British
Age: 23 years old
Sex: Female
Physical Description: Alice stands at five foot five, about average height for women of her country. She has Sandy blonde hair that comes down to a little bit past her chest, when she lets it down, which the counterpart rarely does. Instead, she usually wears it up in pigtails, one on either side of her head. She has bright green eyes, the same color as Arthur, and they’re rather stunning, one of the features she likes best, so Alice always makes sure that the glasses she wears, with a black frame, let her expressive eyes still be seen very clearly. She is on the paler side, although she does have a slight sheen of tanness to her skin. While she was in her punk days, Alice got a tattoo of a bass guitar, right on her left hip. It’s visible when she wears her swimsuits, so she tends not to go swimming, slightly embarrassed by it.
The counterpart tends to wear the colors blue, black, and green, as they usually look the best on her. Occasionally, she’ll wear a female version, edited herself, of Arthur’s military uniform, though she doesn’t wear it often, and never when she’s out and about, as it would draw attention to her, and, as a counterpart, she doesn’t want that at all. As a whole, her clothes tend to be pretty modest, usually long sleeve, and dresses, for the most part. She doesn’t wear pants very often, almost never if she can get away with it, but she does wear skirts sometimes.
Personality: Alice is quick to get riled up over the smallest of things, having irritation pretty much as her default mode, and can quite easily blow up at a person if they continue to push her buttons. She can get absolutely livid, at times, and that is when she starts inflicting massive bodily harm to people, often to the point where, if they were not a nation or a counterpart, they would have died. When she’s embarrassed, depending on what she’s embarrassed about, who the other person is, and what their reaction to her embarrassment is, she will either turn bright red, be at a complete loss for words, and quite possibly flee, or turn bright red, and begin attacking the other person, throwing in insults, as well.
Despite all of this, the counterpart also has a kind side, as well. She enjoys having company, especially if they are quiet and do not disturb her with things she doesn’t want to talk about, and can carry on quite a pleasant conversation. Alice doesn’t smile very largely, nor laugh very often, but if she finds something funny, or someone sweet, she has a soft, slight smile reserved for those occasions. She also enjoys giving gifts to people, not that she’d ever tell them that, being far too embarrassed, and will go to much trouble picking them out, wanting the absolute most perfect thing.
Alice is also very loyal to those she counts as friends, though she may not tell them she considers them such, or act that way. However, if someone threatens her friends, and they cannot protect themselves (sometimes, even when they can), she will leap to their defense, albeit in a bit of a scathing way. She is very much in denial about anything and everything, whether it be the fact that she likes someone, or who she considers her friends. The counterpart can also get pleased over the silliest of things, whether it being someone remembering something that she had said a while back, or a well-meaning birthday present that didn’t turn out right, but had thought behind it.
She is a bit of a sentimental old fool, and quite nostalgic, often sending her mind down memory lane and getting teary eyed at the very minimum, once a weak. Alice does her best to be lady-like, but that is often foiled when her punk and pirate days surface, or she breaks out her rather large repertoire of curse words. Still, she sticks to this desire, even if her beliefs are often misguided in one way or another. All in all, Alice is a bit of a crotchety old woman in a young person’s body, but kind and very loyal.

Sample Post: It was a rainy day, and, though that wasn’t exactly an unusual occurrence in England, Alice was surprised it had come. The weather had been forecasted as sunny, and there had only been a small chance of rain, so the counterpart had expected to be able to go out and garden, maybe chat a bit with the faeries. Instead, she found herself trapped inside, with nothing planned for the day. She always did her best to plan what she was going to do out, as to stay on top of anything, and not be like Amelia, complaining about how much she was bored, but today, it seemed like her planning would be useless.
Sighing slightly in exasperation, Alice went off to make tea, Early Grey, to be exact, as that always helped her think. Should she clean the house, perhaps? Maybe work on her embroidery, as she had to finish that handkerchief for… for… Well, for someone, even if the name escaped her at the moment. She had no books that she hadn’t read yet, having intended to visit the library tomorrow, when it was actually supposed to be pouring, but, alas, she did not want to go out at all. It was absolutely terrible weather outside, and definitely not anything that she wanted to attempt driving in. The counterpart would end up on the side of the road, in a ditch, and have to squash her pride and call Amelia or the perverted frog. …Make that call Amelia, no way was she talking to it if she didn’t have to.
The point was moot, anyways, seeing as Alice was not going out there driving. Sipping at her tea, the woman decided that she would work on her embroidery for… Bloody hell, why couldn’t she remember the person’s name? Pushing aside her irritation, which worked for the most part, though she knew it would most likely resurface the next time she was around the frog or Amelia, the counterpart decided that, yes, she’d work on her embroidery for the person she couldn’t remember, and then she’d go clean, even if the house was pretty much perfect, already. After all, cleanliness was next to godliness, correct?
Pouring herself another glass of Earl Grey, Alice made her way over to her favorite chair, picking up the halfway embroidered handkerchief from the side table, picking it up and examining it. She had embroidered a partially completed maple leaf in the corner… Something niggled at her mind for a moment, trying to make itself known, but whatever it was, it didn’t succeed, and the counterpart began her embroidering, going carefully in and out with her needle and red string. As long as she stayed this way, without it or Amelia disturbing her, it would be a pretty productive day after all. Tomorrow, though, she would definitely go work on her garden.
