SIGURÐUR
iceland
iceland
Are you a Nation or a Counterpart?: Nation
Your Name: Sigurður
*I'm going to keep my tradition with not giving Iceland a last name. On Iceland your last name is your fathers (or in some cases, mothers) name with 'sson' or 'sdóttir' added. So I find it kind of weird to give him one.
Your Nation's Full Name: Ísland
Age: Seventeen
Sex: Male
Physical Description: For being an Icelander he is rather small and fragile built. Rather having the traits of being a small country, with no military strength. He's thin and doesn't own a whole lot of muscles, other than those necessary for a everyday life (where riding a horse often is included). He's pale, and often seem like a person who just woke up - both in his facial appearance and his somewhat tousled hair and clothing. Though he doesn't really look like it most of the time, he does care for his look and appearance - even if he'd never admit it.
His face carries a somewhat stubborn frown, that seems to be his usual expression. Often being replaced by annoyance of many kinds. His hair is in a greyish tone that used to be ashy-blonde (light blonde like his brothers) when he was little, but around the teenage it started to turn grey very fast. Now there's nearly no traces left of the original colour. Most of the time it's often matt and doesn't have much of a shine to it, this goes hand in hand with his health. It can look very shiny when he's feeling good though, bringing it into light and it'd seem almost white. The eyes is bright blue. Even when the rest of him is sick and dull, the blue colour seems to shine through.
He wears a dark brown military jacket with four pockets, that is always open. Under the jacket he wears a white dress shirt, and a white ribbon tie. Pants in the same dark brown colour, and high white boots that is only half laced. He also wears white gloves.
Personality: A lot of people would probably see him for the first time as closed off & uncaring, when he in real is more quiet & shy. The shyness often decides over his curiosity, if he got interest in something the chances of him asking is slim depending on the person. The less he know the person personally, the less are the chances of him just asking right away. It's not like he can't interact with people he don't know, but he feels very awkward around them and would much rather be with people he knows or even better; with none at all.
To a strangers eye he'd even seem reserved to family & close friends, but if you know him well enough, you'd know that it's just how he is; real bad at handling what is other human beings (or as much as countries can be) and is more passionate & emoted than he gives away. He hides this in the temper and shyness, and tries not show too much to the world around him. Yet he's different being together with people he knows. At those times his temper gets shorter and he tends to get annoyed at lot easier. Never afraid of snapping back at any part if needed -even those he just met- he seem to have a very strict patience with his nearest. The more precious they are to him, they easier he gets angry at them. It shouldn't be taken serious though, he's just not good at showing love in the way that people would call positive. His shyness prevents him from this.
With his temper comes stubbornness. When he seems to have put his mind on something, it takes quite a lot to get him on other thoughts. Especially to be independent, is something he's fighting a lot to prove for himself and everyone else - even though it fails a lot of times, he still has his mind set on it. Like he's too stubborn to admit his own illness too. He knows it's there, and takes medicine when needed, but he'd refuse if asked and try to act like there's nothing wrong with him - even if it's so bad he can barely walk.

The Icelander could almost feel and hear how the air stood still in the seconds Lukas used to murmur something he couldn't quite hear, and to say his name, before turning around. It was probably the biggest relief he had had in months, again seeing the cold blue eyes he had known as long as he could remember. He would never have thought he should get this happy to see the older brother. His expression of course, didn't give it away but he was just as happy as he was confused and nervous right now.
He didn't as much as blink when the blue eyes began to scan him. He was used to this. Lukas would notice if he loss just the slightest weight, even if it wasn't anything to worry about. Though Lukas would claim something else, and try to do something about it. As forcefully as he could be.
His own violet eyes was caught and held by Lukas'. Sigurður could feel how he was reading him. A stranger would probably never have noticed the nervous confusion that had built a place in the Icelander, but Lukas read it. He could just as well had been an open book here at the library that the Norwegian had chosen to read. Damnit. Lukas always did this, which could be really frustrating when Sigurður tried to hide something from him. He just always knew when something was going on.
Then ... something happened that Sigurður couldn't really remember seeing before. And it really took him by surprise (that he of course didn't show). Was ... Lukas smiling? Sigurður widened his eyes only slightly in surprise, not really knowing how to react. He couldn't help but to make some sort of small smile back.
This was kind of awkward.
I don't believe it either, Sigurður thought when the Norwegian spoke again. He didn't want to believe they both had ended up here. No matter how relieving it was to see Lukas here, he'd rather had gone and visited him in Norway instead of the other side of the planet. He blinked, knowing what was coming now. He knew Lukas well enough to see what he was about to ask...
"Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?"
Yes. There it was.
"I'm fine." and Sigurður would try to brush it off as usually, though he knew Lukas never just accepted that simple answer so he continued. "Just a little... confused." Frighten, would have been a better description, but he wouldn't accept that himself as a fact.
"But it's fine. Ending up here didn't turn out ... quite as bad as I would have imagined." He looked slightly down, because that was kind of a lie. It was pretty bad, to him. A place like this was just not his cup of tea, and the way he had ended here even less. At least he wasn't worn out from the travelling.. The travelling he didn't even remember.
"... You .. don't know what's happening, do you?" He carefully asked. He had always been able to come to Norway with his problems and worries, and he'd get some sort of help. When he was little he believed Nor knew everything about everything.
